an inlay of 1mm "Tobacco " coloured suede inlayed between one
layers of hand cut 1.5 mm vegetable tanned Italian cowhide and lined with
an additional layer of 1 mm suede underneath . The resulting 3mm overall
thickness made this strap beautifully supple.The buckle is an elegant
solid brass buckle which works very nicely with the overall feel .
Here when designing the cutouts , I kept very much in focus the natural texture of the leather .I also played around with the idea of positive and negative spaces ..All the stitches are "saddle stitched " by hand and uses a strong saddlery grade "Natural " 7 chords waxed thread for an additional textured effect . I am pleased with the results. Width is 2 3/4 "wide at its widest and 1 1/4 "wide at the buckle end |
