Here it is again.
You can now see the layers of leather better. The plates consist of 3.5 mm Vegetable tanned leather, linked by strips of a 1.8 mm veg. tanned hide. This was first laced to a backing of an antique gold/bronze leather that looks almost exactly like the color of the "solid brass"saddlery buckle that I have use on it.
Finally it is lined with a layer of dark brown pig skin suede, reinforced at various points with an additional layer of 1.5 mm veg tanned hide and here you can see it ready to be handstitched with waxed thread.
