Strap #184 is ideal for my black Gretsch Electromatic Hollowbody. Once again, the strap fits very comfortably and does a superb job of supporting this rather large guitar. The soft leather underside is quite supple, and I really like the Pelham hooks that you use to adjust the length of the strap. They get the job done without the risk of banging up the guitar

I received the strap today I was totally gobsmacked, the pictures you sent thru' are nothing compared to the real thing.It is an outstanding work of art,I have never seen one so elaborate, the colors the carving,the width of the strap is perfect for all acoustic steel guitars particularly the Jumbo, and will be a pleasure to use on stage.The leather craftship is superb you should be proud.I tried with three different guitars and it suits all.This is also somewhat of a collectors item I'm sure others will want to know about.I'm wearing it to bed tonight.

Strap seven years on
Hello Chantal,Voilà sept ans que j'utilise le Strap n°32, j'ai décidé de témoigner du niveau de qualité de ton travail. Cela pourra certainement en intéresser quelques-uns.
Le Strap est loin d'être resté dans la boîte. Il travaille tous les jours ou presque, environ d'une demi-heure à plusieurs heures par jour En général  j'y fais attention, mais pas toujours car il arrive qu'on aie pas trop le temps...
Finalement le Strap n'a quasiment pas changé, il garde sa forme, toutes les coutures sont impeccables, la petite guitare gravée est toujours aussi parfaite (mais j'en prend tout de même grand soin), la couleur n'a absolument pas varié.
La surface interne, le "Suede" qui est la partie qui a le plus travaillé, est devenue un peu brillante. C'est le frottement continu qui a rôdé la surface, sans que la fonctionnalité soit amoindrie le moins du monde. Je voulais une surface qui accroche bien, qui ne glisse pas. Pour celà, c'est le "Suede". Chantal me dit que que d'autres cuirs existent, qui glissent plus car certaines personnes préfèrent quand ça accroche moins le tee-shirt, et qui sont plus stables d'aspect. Pour info.
A un endroit, une extrémité de corde sortant de la mécanique de la corde SI (B) a gratté le cuir pendant des mois avant que je m'en aperçoive, juste sur le passage du fil, en fait le fil n'a absolument pas souffert, il n'a rien... Il a pourtant été soumis des centaines de fois à cette extrémité de corde piquante.
La distance entre les deux strap-locks n'a pas varié d'un millimètre..
Je ne vois aucun point faible dans cette construction, c'est bien simple, aucun des objets en cuir que j'ai eu dans ma vie n'a duré, ne dure autant que celui-ci. Ils finissent tous avec le cuir d'un côté et des lambeaux de fil de l'autre. Alors que ce Strap est quasiment comme au premier jour. Le choix de Chantal de ne coudre qu'à la main avec les fils les plus solides, les meilleurs cuirs, les matériaux les plus durables est on ne peut plus judicieux.
Pour ceux qui se posent la question... hé bien oui, un strap de Chantal.. c'est du solide, du très très solide. Et en plus...... ce sont les plus beaux!

I can`t thank you enough! It is said, A picture says a thousand words.
But in this case words can not describe the feelings you get with guitar in hand.
If I had been given this belt and strap when I was young I may have actually made something of
my life. The red matches my guitars color, funny, since I never mentioned it`s color.
I was right, the belt does make me look good... I haven`t taken it off yet.

Chantal....
I have owned movie props before, and love the magical quality they have when you hold and see them in person (I had some items from Jonny Depp's character in Pirates of the Caribbean 1).
On opening up the box with the new Mad Max strap, that was totally what happened to me.... from the leather with the 'Roo' hair still on it to the smaller details (like the police brass button??) to the pocket, to the overall feel... I can see why you made costumes for the Max movies... this strap has THE MAGIC! Many, many thanks, I am actually unable to express enough how amazing this strap is... even the smell!

Got the Strap last night... looks really great and the colour is the perfect complement for the guitar! I love the overall build quality along with the belt buckle adjustment that made getting perfect fit real easy and for such a thick strap it fells already broken in and super comfortable. Well, I am impressed with the quality of the work and the materials. The robust leather at the fixing holes should keep it well in place - no slipping off, that can cause a problem. It also has that wonderful aroma of new leather.
It fits well and I have been able to adjust to a comfortable length. The short shoulder pad needs to be in the right place and I was pleased to find that it can be slid along the strap. It is a little hard at the ends at present but I expect it will soften with use and I am finding it getting easier already.
The strap gives some additional pleasure when I slip the guitar onto my shoulder. It also makes me conjour up lovely pictures of a warm and sunny Aus and you working away there and I think, 'I must go there some day'!
I am impressed by what you are doing and hope things continue to go well for you.

Harmonica pouches

Hello Chantal The harp pouches arrived in perfect order, and they are working well, thank you. I'm impressed by the attention to detail.
I am finding that the Braille is quick to get used to and is genuinely useful, plus it's a great talking point

The harps pull out quickly and cleanly and are perfectly snug in the pouches.

Having them attached to my belt is a great boon, no more searching pockets for the right key, or having them fall from a stool or music stand AND by virtue of being held close to the body, warmer when taken out to play which is very helpful in a cooler climate like Tas (or the UK) - one's lips do not freeze onto the metal of the harp esp when playing
outdoors!

If you look under #151 in the "SOLD Custom Strap" Section of the website you'll see the strap Chantal made for me. It was for my mate's 50th birthday and has his band name on there. Firstly...a huge thank you to Chantal for the strap. You won't find better quality or workmanship anywhere. The detail is awesome and the quality of the leather is fantastic. My mate took one look at it and was blown away. He uses it at all of his gigs now on both his Maton Acoustic and Telecaster guitars. The amount of comments we've had about the strap is amazing...everyone wants to know where he got it...and we make sure we tell them too....hehe If you're thinking about having a strap made for yourself... don't think anymore...just do it. For the price you won't find better anywhere...believe me I shopped around before I ordered mine...but there's no way I'd go anywhere else in the future. And for the record...we're already working on a new design for our next strap...hehehe Jonesy

Jeudi soir je fêtais mon anniversaire et Vendredi matin je me suis levé avec un peu mal à la tête et le Blues (j’attaque la 52éme)

A 10H j’ai reçu les sangles, j’ai prestement ouvert le paquet et là je suis resté en admiration (un peu comme une carpe) devant le travail que tu accomplis. (Du coup mon Blues c’est dissipé, évaporé il a fait pschit…)

Elles sont vraiment toutes les deux magnifiques, du grand Art. Elles sont vibrantes, vivantes, elles ont une âme.

Quelle surprise à la vue de cette sangle pour mon €piphone ! Pour avoir si souvent touché du cuir, pour avoir si souvent porté du cuir... j'avoue n'avoir jamais reçu un tel cadeau aussi précieux d'une matière plus noble que le bois. Tout d'abord, je remercie Jéromine pour cette idée de cadeau original
et exceptionnel, qui me touche profondément. Jéromine a su mesurer avec finesse la valeur sentimentale, de l'étude aux souhaits à la réalisation de la sangle de guitare.
Chantal, quel travail merveilleux avec la plus grande finesse, quels détails précis, quelle exactitude
réalisée avec le plus grand soin par des mains de fée.
Que dire de plus... C'est magique! Le résultat parle de lui même, ce n'est que du bonheur !

Yes it arrived yesterday, The Guitar strap is fantastic, the Workmanship (or should that be Workwomanship) is impressive as is the attention to the small details such as the re-inforcing around the attachment holes.
Even my wife was suitably impressed, the strap is unique and makes a statement, thankyou, at least I'll look the part, unfortunately it probably wont hide the "bum" notes. Will spread the word.

Hi, Chantal - Thanks so much for Series "0" #040... it has quickly become my favourite item after my guitar itself. I never would have expected a strap to have such an impact on my playing experience, but since putting it on I haven't wanted to sit down with my guitar - I now find it more comfortable to stand! I can feel the natural balance of my instrument, and I love the simplicity of the rugged yet supple hide. The unlined back suits me perfectly, as my guitar stays where I want if I need to bring the neck closer to reach stretchy chords. The Pelham hook fastening is the most elegant solution I've seen to the problem of messy strap ends, and that alone would elevate your straps above any others I've seen... but we can add to the list your selection of materials and painstaking manufacture. It's rare to encounter such artistry in the production of an accessory that so many would regard as being strictly utilitarian, but to ignore it would be like wearing a finely tailored suit with cheap shoes... Thanks again (can you tell that I really like the strap?),

Hi Chantal,
I wanted to contact you early today to share with you my experience with the JH strap. As you would recall I was elated when I received the electronic images of the strap as work in progress and after you completed it. The Jimi portraits and colours struck me. Sure enough that was not sufficient to prepare me for the level of detail I encountered when I held the strap in my hands. Awesome is an understatement! The perfectly snug fit was an icing on the cake as they say.

In the end just as I had wished, my weekend was surreal in a beautiful way. More than all the straps you have done for me the JH has immortalised our relationship, as it will serve as a constant reminder of our virtual meeting.

La qualité est fantastique, très robuste, épaisse. La texture des cuirs ne souffre d'aucun défaut. Je l'ai aussitôt installée sur ma Stratocaster (je vous joins des photos) et non seulement elle se marie parfaitement avec elle, mais le confort de jeu est en outre fabuleux. As for the strap.... My Oh My. I received it within a week of you sending it. I think i'm in love with it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! I never dreamed that our conversations would result in something so stylish and cool! I'm so pleased with how it's made as well, it's really top quality. Honestly, it's a work of art. I'd hang it up on the wall if it didn't look so great with my guitar! I can't express to you how happy i am with the strap you've made for me. Thank you so much.

Chantal, #043 was a surprise - in fact, 3 GREAT surprises. First of all, it is SO comfortable; couldn't feel better. Second, it has a strong, simple, rugged beauty to it unlike any I've seen. Third is the value... I cannot believe I was able to get such a fine strap for the price. I own 2 other straps that cost over twice as much, and they don't compare. Wow!!

Chantal, this strap is AWESOME!! Everyone that has seen it is taken by its beautiful design and workmanship. And the good news is that even though I bought it to go with my CP Thornton Blues Queen, it also looks great with my CP Thornton Professional and Classic models. I'm so glad we did this. I've never been excited about a strap before; now I rave about it to everyone!

Hi Chantal,
The strap has arrived. Apparently I had no idea what to expect, because it took my breath away when I first opened it! It's like a living thing almost, so complex, yet so simple and organic. And so perfectly proportioned that it's as flexible as if made from silk, or eel skin. It hangs so gently and effortlessly that it creates an absolutely perfect transition bewteen body and instrument.

I am so happy with my strap and it compliments my guitar so well dont you think?. It is very comfortable and just the right size. So I was out searching the net for custom leather guitar straps when I came upon this little page called Straps by Chantal Cordey. I honestly almost passed the link on Google and go for another one but thought to myself "What the hell, give it a shot" WOW, was I amazed at what I saw! All of the straps that I saw were exactly the type of design I was looking for. There was one on the SOLD customs page, #30, that I absolutely fell in love with......John in Sydney if you ever decide to part with it let me know. hehe!! Anyway, I contacted Chantal and she walked me through everything. I told her what I was looking for and she whipped up a design for me on the old computer. The first design was close but something was missing. My actual words to Chantal were "Imagine that Clint Eastwood plays guitar. I want the strap that he would use." She nailed it on the first try after that. My strap arrived and it's so cool that I can't even decide which guitar I want to use it with. During the time I'm not playing I have it hanging on my wall. Not only is it a great strap it makes a killer wall hanging here in my room. Chantal, thank you for all your hard work and you can be sure that when I need another strap I'll be dropping you a mail.

La sangle mais le mot est totalement inadapté pour cet objet d'art. Elle est splendide, je l'ai tout de suite essayée sur ma favorite, une telecaster 60th reissue qui est également magique.
Je suis ravi, elle a fait l'objet de l'admirations des mes deux filles Alix et Emma et de mon épouse Anne.
...déjà je me suis emerveillé devant le paquet. Il avait quelque chose de misterieux , la forme les étiquettes, la magie était déjà là....
Sur le plan érgonomique c'est parfait aussi, la sangle est large et elle ne glisse pas.

Very beautiful, refined and simple, yet there is a ruggedness to it...it feels substantial in your hands. I love the textures of the ostrich skin that give it an enhanced 3D vibe.

I couldn't be happier with the results of this strap.
The workmanship is as good as it gets and every one of your ideas was right on the money. I knew I had to trust the process and whenever it was picking your ideas over mine, which as you know was a number of times, it has become so clear that your expertise and insights were the absolute way to go each and every time and I'm so glad we did.
The rose is perfect and doesn't interfere in any way. It's such an easy blend as is the tapering at either end of the strap.
I appreciate the detailed stitching and lacing, they are both so smooth.
The extra kangaroo skin to strengthen the strap in all the right places is also appreciated.
The measurements that we worked so hard to get right are also perfect both front and back. All the inlays sit perfectly in the right spots as a result.
The coloring of the King Cobra and the lettering as well as the navy dye on the strap are all very complimentary and just right.
The strap attaches to the banjo brackets real well.
Your strap work is the best I have seen. Your craftmanship, attention to detail, your insistence on doing things right and spending the required time to do so is immensely appreciated.
The straps are not cheap but that being said, I don't know how you do it given all the preparation, design, consulting and then the actual making of the strap. They end up being a work of art, so unique and in the end an absolute bargain.
I am satisfied in every sense of the word and I thank you with all the sincerity I can muster.

The guitar strap arrived Thursday...it's everything I wanted...a perfect match for my "58" Les Paul...just too cool....and I'm thinking you adjusted it to 50" that I mentioned in one of my emails, cause I took it out of the package and put it on my guitar and it was a perfect fit...
I really like the protective flap you implemented for me...I don't have a worry about dings...I got its first gig under its belt last night...can't tell or thank you enough...you're something!! To be sure, I'll be gettin' another from you in the future.

I wanted to contact you early today to share with you my experience with the JH strap. As you would recall I was elated when I received the electronic images of the strap as work in progress and after you completed it. The Jimi portraits and colours struck me. Sure enough that was not sufficient to prepare me for the level of detail I encountered when I held the strap in my hands. Awesome is an understatement! The perfectly snug fit was an icing on the cake as they say.In the end just as I had wished, my weekend was surreal in a beautiful way.
